Privacy Policy
Last updated October 27, 2026
This policy covers The Hockey Pool App, The Basketball Pool App, The Racing Pool App, The Gridiron Pool App, The Clubhouse Pool App, Card Checklist and the other Fantasy Pools apps, along with fantasypools.app and the shared account service at accounts.fantasypools.app. It explains what we collect, why, who helps us run things, and your choices. Fantasy Pools is run by 10495859 Canada Ltd in British Columbia, Canada. The short version: we collect what it takes to run your pools, we don't sell it, and we don't show ads or use trackers.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, the name you choose, a profile picture if you add one, and your password (stored only as a secure hash) if you set one.
- Signing in: the sign-in codes we email you, which apps you've signed in to and when, and the usual technical details that come with any web request (such as your IP address and browser), kept in short-lived logs and session records.
- What you do in the apps: your leagues and pools, teams, picks, lineups and trades, chat and smack talk, and your settings. In Card Checklist: your collection, the photos you add and the friends you connect with.
- Card locations (Card Checklist, only if you turn it on): when you add a card, the town and a position rounded to about a kilometre. Only you see it.
- Plus: which plan you have, its dates and its trials. Payments are made through Stripe, which collects your card and billing address; we keep only your Stripe customer reference, your plan and your invoices. We never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- To run Fantasy Pools: sign you in, show your pools and collection, score games, and send the emails you've chosen (sign-in codes, reminders, results). You can turn most emails off in each app's profile.
- To bill Plus and work out the right sales tax.
- To keep Fantasy Pools safe and working: stopping abuse, and fixing problems.
We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't use analytics or advertising trackers. The only cookies we use keep you signed in.
Who sees what
- People in your leagues and pools see your name, picture, teams, picks and what you post there.
- Your trophy showcase is public only if you turn it on, and you choose what's on it.
- In Card Checklist, friends you connect with see what you choose to share with them.
Who helps us run it
These companies handle information for us, only to provide their service:
- Amazon Web Services hosts our servers and databases and sends our emails.
- Cloudflare stores profile pictures and card photos.
- Stripe processes Plus payments and calculates sales tax.
- Anthropic (Claude) reads the card photos you ask Card Checklist to identify, and writes the advice in features you turn on (Assistant GM, Race Engineer, Caddie's Picks) from your pool, team and player data. It doesn't receive your email address.
- OpenStreetMap turns your position into a town if you turn on card locations, and provides the map tiles in Card Checklist.
- bunny.net serves the fonts our pages use.
Some of these companies store information outside Canada, mostly in the United States, where it's covered by their privacy and security commitments and the local law. The sports, odds and card data providers we use don't receive any information about you.
How long we keep it
- Your account stays until you delete it. Deleting it (from your profile on accounts.fantasypools.app) signs you out everywhere and removes your email, password and picture. Your teams, picks and results stay in the pools you played in, under the name you used, so those pools' standings and history still make sense.
- Payment and tax records are kept as long as Canadian tax law requires (generally six years).
- Technical logs are kept for a short time, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your details in your profile, turn emails and optional features off, and delete your account. You can also ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. If you're not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Fantasy Pools is for people 13 and older. If you think a child under 13 has made an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections, passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and sign-in codes expire quickly. No system is perfect, but we take care with what you trust us with, and we'll tell you if something goes wrong that affects you.
Changes to this policy
We'll post any changes here with a new date, and tell you about important ones before they apply.
